Super Siblings Web Comic Strip for the week of March 7th, 2011 by Patrick Scullin. I have to admit I stole this one from my son who’s mother was horrified when she saw a drawing he made recently. Dad was proud.

Man, everyone’s a critic! Mother’s these days, where do they get the idea that they can tell there kids what to do…? Oh wait… never mind…
So true!
I see this with my boys, not with drawing yet but with what they find fascinating. They love bugs, dead things (i.e. Road kill, dead birds, etc.) and my wife has asked me from time to time “Is this normal?” I don’t think it’s a mother thing so much as it is a woman thing, guys are definitely wired differently and that shows thru from a very, very young age.
One the discussion of drawings, it’s a shame now a days that kids can’t draw freely at school anymore. I remember drawing people shot, stabbed, decapitated, planes bombing people, etc. during school and when it was taken up by the teacher cause I wasn’t paying attention she just disregarded what was on it and thru it away. Now a days a kid can’t draw someone holding a gun without them expelling them. It’s really a sad, sad world when your criticized at that young of an age and made to feel there’s something wrong with you for drawing (use your example above) zombies.
Great comment!
