We tried that once, but the kids caught us in the driveway.
My wife and feel like that every time we try to plan a date night. The boys are still too young to intervene (2 and 4) but we always feel guilty like we’re having to sneak away. They always enjoy their time with the wifes folks, but about a year ago they would both cry until we returned, you just never get over that feeling, so we always find ourselves enjoying time just us, but in the back of our mind wanting to wrap up the evening so we can get back.
My wife and I are excited because our boys are now old enough for us to leave them alone for date night. It’s been so long since we’ve been able to go out with out them. We’re really enjoying it.
Most of my kids are grown up now, but this sure brought back some memories of trying to get away.
