There are too many books to follow and too many awesome events to keep up with. My collections isn't huge... about 1500 or so... and I don't have any complete runs (I'm close to having every She-Hulk book actually) so I may not have the same draw that you experience. But cutting the cord was still very tough for me. What I've found, though, is that I feel really behind on everything. I don't so much miss the bagging and the boarding or the constant trips to my LCS... it's just really hard to post in most comic forums when you're reading trades several months after the story was first released. It's also almost impossible to jump back in. I haven't started up the Digital following yet... that might help with my conversation skills, but part of me does miss my individual issues and the draw that Wednesday brings. Ultimately, I had to choose my finances, and I still get the stories... just a lot later than everybody else. I had to “jump off” after Civil War.
